There is one weekend a year that some of us call our “Christmas”. People from all over the world flock to Detroit Michigan’s hart plaza to experience the heart and soul of where “techno” was born.
Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival is here once again, and I know I am more pumped then ever for this years festivities. This for me will be my 9th year attending the festival. It seems like just yesterday I was dancing around with my best friend and our glowsticks. I really did not realize at the time that it would be the start of a life changing journey.
Many people flock to hart plaza in Detroit to experience the music. The soul and the art that is Detroit. The list of reasons I attend is so long I would be here forever listing them off for all of you. Im not even going to go there. There are some important details though that I must point out that might give you a better understanding why im going for my 9th year, and why I think you should think about attending.
There is something about the city of Detroit and the people that always make the weekend so amazing. It’s almost strange how connected you feel not only to the city but the people around you. I have been surrounded by close friends, girlfriends, acquaintances every year I have attended, but I have meet the most intriguing individuals at the festival itself. Its always amazing to see friends from citys far away and friends that you have meet in previous years that without saying, you stay in contact with year after year.
The weekend is a vacation. A vacation from the real world. For 3 full days and nights, you can forget everything and just enjoying music, friends and the city of Detroit. There is no better feeling then watching everything just dance together and express themselves however they please. This is what the Movement festival is based on. No judgement, letting loose, enjoying life, and making life long friends that you will never forget.
This post really wont due justice to the amazing time you will have if you choose to attend, but just remember.: No matter who you are, where you are from, what music you like, what food you enjoy, this coming weekend in Detroit will make you feel right at home because its about enjoying life and feeling free. Today I will be making the attempt at turning this room back into a working studio. Going out to find a new studio desk and then try and put it together. This shall be fun. Hopefully after this gets all said and done I can get a little bit of work done today so I can get some free music out to you guys!

Hey kids, Long time no talk. I figured I would just pop on here and give everyone one an update as to where everything stands right now.
I tore apart my studio today as I am getting new carpet tomorrow morning. The hassle of tearing down all my studio equipment was not a fun one and even more so, putting it back together is going to be hell. The good news is that everything will be more in order tomorrow when I do get it all back up and running. Fingers crossed that all goes ok… I’ll be getting a new studio desk to help organize all of the equipment im now starting to run.
Gr3yScale is coming along very well. I am currently in the process of reviewing some demos that are being sent my way, considering there is only about a month to go until launch, I feel very good about the timing of everything and there are currently no setbacks, (that I am aware of). Artwork is being done over in the UK right now and I will make sure to share that with you all once im happy with the final product.
As if I dont put enough pressure on myself already, I have been working on a free EP that should be available very soon for you guys to download via Soundcloud. Its a EP of 2 ambient/downtempo records that im pretty happy with. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it.
Sorry for the quick update everyone but I have much more to go over and will add a few more posts over the next few days.
Personal life is becoming very interesting and fun. Lots going on and lots to smile about.
Oh and just a quick fact, dont get the strawberry frapp from starbucks, its colored with extract from dead bugs. Not kidding, look it up!
Hey guys. I told you this blog would have some sort of personal meaning without the music content and that was not a lie. I want you guys to have some sort or understanding of the Sean Bartley beyond the music posts you see on facebook an twitter.
Most of you all know I have a huge interest is social media and the internet, but I have never been really open about my life on here. I want that to change. Mostly because I think that the positive and negative things I talk about may help someone.
My life has taken a 360 in the past year. I have had so much happen, I have no idea where to start.
(and to make a point, im not a English major so please dont judge my grammar, you will get the point.)
Im not going to go into detail about the things that have happened to me because I dont want anyone to want or feel the need to feel sorry for me. Needless to say, things have hurt me, a ton.
I look at it like this, im still here to write this post, and I still have a smile on my face as I do it. I STILL have something to say…
Out of all the bad things that happen to someone, you have to look deep and find inspiration in places you would think that are completely ridiculous.
Trust me, try it, its worth it.
I love to make music, but I also love people. I have been blessed to have jobs that I can share this love I have with.
I don’t currently have a “Real Job” but to myself I have a few “Jobs” I think are really important…
I want to make people happy. I have found how. That is to make music. Not only to make my own music, but to help people that WANT to make music, well….make music themselves! I have never had something I have been more passionate about. My family knows this, my close friends know this, and the most important thing is… I finally know this.
You may think im crazy saying that, but im really not. I share my music with you all because I enjoy making it, and I wish for all of you to enjoy it. Now its time for me to ENSURE you all LOVE IT, and for everyone that wants to do the same, I want to do everything I can to help them make that happen. No holding back. Things may make you miss a step here or there, I know this. Dont let it change your dream.

Yup! Its me. Decided to start this new blog to mostly bother you guys with information, but also to give you some sort of a look into my strange and ever changing thing I call everyday life.
I will continue to update you all with music related information but this blog will be mostly for fun and games. Sometimes you will like what I have to say, but most of the time you wont and I think that sounds like loads of fun.
